When we set out to make Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa Mild, we had one goal in mind: create the best tasting salsa possible.

We put forth a painstaking effort to make sure that we were using only the freshest, most natural ingredients. This meant that we had to grow some of our own vegetables and source others locally. It also meant that we had to find the perfect balance of spice and flavor. We didn’t want to go overboard on the heat, knowing that some folks are sensitive to it. But we also didn’t want a bland salsa either!

We feel that we have succeeded in creating a salsa that won’t burn your tongue off, but will give you just enough heat to let you know that it is there. We are proud of what the Mateo’s brand has become, starting with our original recipe for salsa and now including our Gourmet Bloody Mary Mix, Margarita Mix, Red Enchilada Sauce, and other items!
